Carolyn Laurie “Carol” Kane, born June 18, 1952, is an American actress who works in theater, film, and TV. She broke out in the 70s with Hester Street (scored an Oscar nom) and Annie Hall.
In the early 80s she played Simka, Latka’s wife on Taxi (Andy Kaufman’s character) and grabbed two Emmys. She was Madame Morrible in Wicked on Broadway and tours from 2005 to 2014. Since 2015 she’s been killing it as Lillian Kaushtupper on Netflix’s Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.
