Mike
Miranda Richardson, born March 3, 1958, is an English actress who works in theater, film, and TV. She broke out playing Ruth Ellis in Dance with a Stranger (1985) and scored Oscar noms for Damage (1992) and Tom & Viv (1994). She grabbed a BAFTA for Supporting Actress in Damage and Golden Globes for Enchanted April (1992) and the TV movie Fatherland (1994).
She started on stage, hit the West End in Moving (1980), and got an Olivier nomination for A Lie of the Mind (1987). On TV she’s famous for Blackadder (1986–89), A Dance to the Music of Time (1997), Merlin (1998), The Lost Prince (2003), and the sitcom The Life and Times of Vivienne Vyle (2007).
